‘Ifreke Inyang: 5 things we learnt from Chelsea vs Liverpool

Image
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool defeated Chelsea 3-1 at Stamford Bridge and time appears to be running out for Jose Mourinho. Here are 5 things we learned from the match: 1. The Klopp is running out for Mourinho How much time does Mourinho really have to turn things around at Chelsea? The board came out and publicly backed him – an unprecedented move. There were signs that the team were improving, but losing the last three matches is something to ponder on. One wonders if he will be in the dugout next week. 2. Coutinho sparkles The Brazilian schemer has not been in form since the season started, but he chose the right game to strut his stuff. With his side bereft of cutting edge in the first half and a few more seconds after the two minutes added on, Coutinho left Ramires stranded and curled in a beauty. 1-1. In the second half, he picked up from where he stopped, giving the Reds a very deserved lead. 3. Decision time for Roman As the result sinks in, the Russian owner has a choice to make. K

Hero photographer recreates wedding for newlyweds

Image
On her wedding day, Heather Koehler was about to walk down the aisle when she realized something terrible. Her photographer hadn't shown up. Heather was disappointed, but time was of the essence — she and her now-husband Matt were forced to go through their ceremony and reception without a single professional photo. "I didn't have time to be upset," Heather told MLive. Luckily, the Koehlers had the Wonder Woman of photography in their corner. When Michigan photographer Dana Gruszynski read about the mishap on Facebook the next day, she concocted a plan. First, she reached out to the Koehlers to offer them a free stylized photo shoot — that is, a professional couples session that is usually separate from the wedding anyway. Then she started to track down the bridesmaids and groomsmen. She painstakingly inspected Facebook photos from the wedding, taking note of the tiniest decorative details. Then, she recreated the Koehlers' wedding day — right down to bouquets and

According to the governor, the All Progressives Congress-led government has been employing propaganda to deal with the issue. “This is the time for the federal government to come out and tell Nigerians about the state of the economy rather than employ propaganda. “I foresee serious trouble ahead because in the next three months, the economy may collapse. Oil now sells in the region of $40 per barrel. Things have never been bad like this. When I returned from the Holy Land yesterday (Wednesday), I was told that Ekiti got N1.4bn whereas my wage

The state government had vowed to go tough on any trailer and long vehicle that contravenes the law as such vehicle will be impounded and made to pay the stipulated fine accordingly. Primate Ayodele’s prophecies: The fulfillment, the pains

Primate-Ayodele By Bashir Adefaka NIGERIA knew, knows and is still knowing about prophets in the Lord’s Vineyard. This is a prophet who told this reporter before jetting out to Enugu enroute Achalla on Monday October 12, 2015, among many other prophecies that a young man would emerge as Ooni of Ife and that his emergence would not only come to pass but that it will bring prosperity to Yoruba race. Primate-Ayodele When contacted over the most recent prophecy the Primate said, “My prophecies coming to pass is not for me to celebrate. I tell the government

UNICEF To Support Zamfara Govt. To Immunise 1.2 Million Children Against Measles

Image
UNICEF says it will partner the Zamfara State Government in the immunisation of no fewer than 1.27 million children in the state between Nov. 21 and Nov. 25. Dr Usman Nakakana, the UNICEF consultant on measles in the state, disclosed this on Friday during an awareness meeting on measles with journalists in Gusau. He said that unlike in the past when the vaccines were administered on children from house-to-house, the state committee against measles had selected designated immunisation points across the state for the exercise. The consultant said that mothers would be expected to bring their children who fell between the ages of nine months and five years to the designated points for immunisation. He said, “in 2013, only about 74 per cent of children in the state were immunised against measles,’’ but expressed confidence that over 90 per cent success would be achieved this time. Nakakana said that through UNICEF support and renewed commitment from the government, the committee intended t
